About me
Karis Nichols serves as Artistic Director of the Frederick Children’s Chorus, bringing a deep love of music and a heart for students to every ensemble. She has taught for nine years in public and private schools in Kansas and Maryland, with K-12 music experience in choir, band, dance, music theory, and humanities, as well as a reputation for growing strong programs. She is an active adjudicator and received the Kansas Choir Directors Prelude Award and the Governor’s “Teacher of Influence” Honor. Mrs. Nichols holds degrees from Kansas State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music.
